Why is TikTok so Addicting?

Have you found yourself on Tiktok realising you have lost track of time or just straight up been distracted by the videos people post?

Overall Tiktok is good fun, this we all know, but the question remains, is Tiktok addicting? Everyone has their own opinion on the matter, but there are reasons as to how it could be.

Studies have shown that many people have said the first thing they do in the morning is watch Tiktok, the first thing! Forget about Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram, Tiktok is the priority according to some. But why Tiktok?

Why is Tiktok their go to? Is it the content people post? Or maybe the concept of being able to share something you have created?

The fact that Tik Tok is an app, of which gives you the ability to collaborate with others and create a video for almost anyone to see, that includes an idea that you came up with, why wouldn't it be addicting?

Some people might find it silly or unamusing, which is understandable. However, others will find it to be the opposite. It does depend on the person and if it is the type of content you enjoy watching, as the majority of Tiktoks are based on comedy and relatable topics.

Tiktok it is its own app, it doesn't just reach out to your friends, it can reach out to anybody. Whereas Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook mostly focus on more on interaction with friends, a photo feed and messages, but Tiktok, on the other hand, is more comedy and fun content.

Take Snapchat, for example, you wouldn't really say you're addicted to it, but more along the lines of 'you're waiting for a friend to respond'. It isn't the actual platform you're necessarily addicted to.

With Tiktok's multiple factors it is safe to say, there's a chance you may get addicted to it, depending on who you are and what you like, but it goes without saying that Tiktok has the potential, to be an addiction.
