Collingwood Vs Richmond

Collingwood and Richmond played out their first draw against each other since the 16th of June 1917. The game was the first AFL game in 3 months and it really showed with only 10 goals being kicked for the game.

In the second quarter the Tigers sprung to lift with all three of their goals coming off the boot of Tom Lynch and the Pies just managing one through Tom Phillip which would be the last Magpie's goal for the game, the Pies would lead the Tiger’s by 14 points heading into the main break.

In the third, it was all Richmond who kicked their two majors through Shai Bolton and Jack Higgins who controversially marked the ball over the line, but he would still snap truly to cut the margin at the final change to two points.

In the last, no goals were scored Collingwood scored two points to Richmond four, But Collingwood had a chance to win the game 20 seconds left when the ball comes out to Josh Thomas who shanks his kick to Callum in the pocket before he can pick the ball up Nick Valustian with a game-saving tackle to get the ball over the boundary.

The second would start off a bit differently with the Hawks booting the first goal and after that, it was goal for goal until Luke Dahlhaus kicked his second to extend the half time lead to a goal.

In the third, it all went downhill for the Hawks with Geelong kicking the next 5 including new Dad Sam Menegola, before Tim O’ Brien finally kicked a goal for the Hawks but the damage was done with the Cats extending their lead to 27 at the final change.

In the last quarter, the Cats just ran rampant over the hapless Hawks to add misery to the Hawthorn trip down the Highway with the Cats adding another 4 goals to run out 61 point winners and move to a 1-1 record in season 2020.
